Deep Woods Drought
Built from the hollow of an ancient oak after a long season of drought, Deep Woods Drought began as a refuge for hunters and scouts. Halla Durn's grandmother opened the hall as a place to share water and tales when wells ran dry. Over decades the tavern grew into a forest retreat where rangers, druids, and wayward nobles pause between expeditions. On a particularly thin summer, a young woodwight bartered a carved music box to the family in exchange for shelter; the box and the first tavernlight have been bound to the place ever since. Skirmishes with timber cutters and a near-ruinous flood decades past pushed the tavern to the heart of local politics, and Halla kept the hall by keeping secrets better than coin.
