Quirks

The tavern's large hearth has an old horseshoe magnetized into the mantle — folk toss lost coins into the hearth for luck (Marta takes a cut). A battered wooden pegboard near the entrance keeps a running tally of debts, favors owed, and 'promises' scribbled in charcoal.
