Quirks

Bromm insists on metal mugs for house ale (no glass served) and stamps the bottom of each mug with a tiny iron rune when bought by the jug. The innkeeper keeps a ledger of 'owed favors' in rune script; settlement is usually in coin or a favor, rarely in gold alone.

Lore

Dwarven brewing at the Iron Cask blends mountain technique with surface ingredients: mineral-rich spring water, barrel aging in hammered iron bands, and occasional use of subterranean fungi for distinct flavors. Locals whisper that 'Stonebloom' yeast derives from spores found in a sunless cavern—dangerous to harvest but prized by brewers. The rune-stamped mug is as much a mark of pride as payment; in dwarven custom, stamping binds a bartered promise to honor, and breaking that promise invites a clan's shame.
