The Festive Flagon

Founded five years ago by Brenna Willowbarrel after she sold the last of her adventuring trinkets, The Festive Flagon began as a small tavern aimed at starting parties and finishing them. It grew during the yearly Lanterntide festival when itinerant bands and fledgling guilds sought a friendly, loud place to swap stories and contracts. Over time Brenna built ties to local stables, a retired apothecary and a handful of veteran adventurers who act as informal mentors to newcomers.

History

Founded five years ago by Brenna Willowbarrel after she sold the last of her adventuring trinkets, The Festive Flagon began as a small tavern aimed at starting parties and finishing them. It grew during the yearly Lanterntide festival when itinerant bands and fledgling guilds sought a friendly, loud place to swap stories and contracts. Over time Brenna built ties to local stables, a retired apothecary and a handful of veteran adventurers who act as informal mentors to newcomers.

Quirks

Colored lanterns above each table are swapped daily; patrons tie small trinkets to the lantern that represent a personal boast or a past quest. A resident raven, Patch, accepts shiny tips and occasionally returns small items from patrons' pockets — usually trinkets, sometimes important-looking notes. During festival nights Brenna leads an impromptu 'tale-swap' where each new adventurer must spin a short story for their first drink free.

Lore

Locals whisper that the Flagon stands atop an older waystone used by traveling merchants to 'reset' luck before long journeys. The carved star Brenna uses to vouch for safe noticeboard postings is said to be a sigil from a small, now-scattered Adventurer's Circle that once regulated mercenary work in the region. Winning a 'Newblood Contest' here can put a name on the maps carried by guild scouts — good for reputation and for landing that first proper contract in a world where reputation is currency.
