The Cornerstone Sanctuary
Founded three generations ago by a retired temple warden who secured a city plot at the junction of three old pilgrimage routes, the tavern was built as a neutral place for priests, pilgrims, and layfolk to rest without losing their convictions. Over decades the building absorbed stones, offerings, and blessing rituals from many houses of worship. In times of plague the tavern provided clean water and shelter; during a short-lived street war it served as a meeting place where rival clerics negotiated a fragile truce. Its reputation as neutral ground has endured, and its cornerstone stones are occasionally replaced with fragments gifted by visiting faiths.
