Krand: Squid & Mermaid Inn
The Squid & Mermaid Inn began twenty years ago when Bandor, a barrel-savvy brewer from the western shoals, teamed with Hops, a halfling with a gift for hospitality and ears in all the right places. Krand was hungry for an establishment that catered to sailors without being a stink-pit, so they built the inn on a reinforced slip. Over time the inn earned a reputation for fair rooms, a solid brew, and a seat at the dial of the docks' information circuit. Bellisima arrived a decade later and turned the upstairs parlor into the city trade's quieter exchange. The inn survived a violent storm that broke the outer breakwater, and the owners sealed a scarred beam over the hearth as a reminder of that night. The Queen's Suite acquired its name after a highborn patron, a visiting merchant's wife who insisted on a private apartment for the night and singled out the window view. Since then the suite has been the inn's pride and its most whispered secret.
