The Luminous Grove

The Luminous Grove began as Mira's small field kitchen under a moonwood sapling she planted years ago. Travelers praised her calming broths and sheltered spirit, and over three seasons the sapling grew into the broad trunk that now houses the tavern. Word spread when a caravan found respite here during a storm and dubbed the place a 'grove that glows.' Over time, small amenities — the stage, the cold plunge, extra rooms — were added from timber and stone donated by grateful travelers.

History

The Luminous Grove began as Mira's small field kitchen under a moonwood sapling she planted years ago. Travelers praised her calming broths and sheltered spirit, and over three seasons the sapling grew into the broad trunk that now houses the tavern. Word spread when a caravan found respite here during a storm and dubbed the place a 'grove that glows.' Over time, small amenities — the stage, the cold plunge, extra rooms — were added from timber and stone donated by grateful travelers.

Quirks

The tavern is dimly lit by slow-glowing fungi and hanging lanterns; when the wind moves through the canopy it makes a soft chime. Regulars toss small trinkets into a 'wishing root' — a hollow knot in the bar tree — and occasionally Mira filches useful items from it to return as prizes.

Lore

Locals say the grove sits atop an ancient fae path laid down long before the town existed. The lantern-fungi were possibly sown by an old pilgrimage. Old maps mark the area as 'Safe Crossing' for a reason: the trees remember those who sleep beneath them. Some claim the moonwood oak will refuse service to anyone it deems a threat; others say it keeps a ledger of names whispered into its bark.
