The Hearth and Hound
Built on the stone foundations of a former watch post that stood at the crossroads of two old trade routes, the Hearth & Hound has been in the Brindle family for three generations. It opened as a waystation for drovers and peddlers and grew into a cozy inn when Marta Brindle's parents added the second story and the stable. The inn sheltered refugees during the famine a decade ago and earned a reputation as a place where disputes are settled over ale rather than steel. In the last few years the cellar has been quietly expanded to store unexpected shipments, and whispers of hidden tunnels began to circulate after a storm unearthed a flagged stone in the courtyard.
