The Black Keystone
Built where the city's first wall met the river, the tavern stands on an original keystone once set by the first masons. For two centuries it has served as a meeting place for river-hands, watchmen and those who prefer shadows over lanternlight. After a fire fifty years ago the current owner’s predecessor rebuilt the place in darker stone and fitted the cellar with shelves for bottles and secrets. Over time, the tavern gathered a reputation as a crossroads for information, a place where debts and favors change hands as often as coin.
