Built atop an old crossroads shrine, the tavern began as a simple alehouse a generation ago. Maera Brightbottle purchased it after saving its owner from a spell that threatened to collapse the building; she invested her performance savings into runes and lanterns and transformed the place into a magical festive hall. Over the years it has hosted coronations of local guilds, travelling courts, and annual lantern blessings.

Quirks

The lanterns that hang throughout change color with the mood of the crowd; when the tavern is particularly merry, they release harmless glitter that smells faintly of cinnamon. The barkeep keeps a jar of 'festival confetti' coins—patrons who drop them into the house brazier are granted small,-playful enchantments for an hour (Maera controls what those are).

Lore

Local tradition holds that the crossroads beneath the tavern is a place where travelers once made bargains with minor fey—leftover threads of that magic were woven into the tavern's lanterns. Festival songs sung on the Enchanted Stage can unintentionally echo into the old warding lattice below; when sung in the right sequence they are said to call a 'night of favor'—a single evening when luck leans toward those who celebrate earnestly. Old-timers warn that those who try to exploit the favor for personal gain often find the magic turning playfully against them.
