Quirks

Patrons are given small black wax seals with the tavern’s sigil when they pay; servers speak in murmurs and never mention names. A raven keeps perch in the rafters and is startlingly accepted as 'staff'. Candles are always trimmed to an unsteady, blue flame that never quite gutters.

Lore

Locals whisper that the tavern stands on a seam between the city and the shadowed quarter — a place where secrets stick like cobwebs. Some say the raven in the rafters is bound to the house and carries word to a society known as the Nightfold. The Ledger Vault is both feared and courted; kings and thieves alike have been named within its pages. In times of scandal, the Velvet Shroud is where reputations are repaired or quietly disposed of.
