The Hearth and Hobb
The Hearth and Hobb opened twenty years ago when Marta Brindle and her late husband converted a former carpenter's shop into a snug inn for passing traders and local farmers. Over the years it has been the spot where harvest bargains are struck, midwives meet after market day, and the occasional young squire comes to nurse a bruised pride. It survived a bad winter and a short-lived smuggling ring two winters ago; Marta bought out the last of the ring's debts and turned the cellar into a proper, locked store for spices and preserved meats.
