Brakk has a booming laugh that makes ornaments shake, and gives free drinks to patrons who can beat him in arm wrestling. The tavern often erupts in spontaneous shanties, clapping contests, or impromptu brawls — but all end with hearty toasts.

Some say the hearth’s roaring flames are infused with the blessing of Kord, the god of strength and storms, lending courage (and sometimes recklessness) to those who drink beside it. Old veterans swear they can hear faint distant thunder when the ale flows freely, an omen of battles yet to come.
