Quirks

The Hearth & Hound has an old stone gargoyle mounted near the chimney that locals swear 'shakes its head' when the weather will turn foul. On stormy nights, the hearth fire crackles with an uncanny blue flame.

Lore

Local legend says a loyal dog saved the original tavern owner from a pack of wolves one harsh winter night, hence the 'Hound' in the name. Some also claim that the inn’s hearth fire contains ashes from a long-extinguished magical flame, which is why it never goes out, even when the tavern is closed.
