The Loomway Advent

The Loomway was founded thirty years ago by Maraz Velhos, a caravan-master turned bard who stitched together a business from his routes between spice islands and desert ports. What began as a caravaner's stop grew into an Adventurer's Haven when Maraz began offering safe rooms, horse stalls and a corkboard for mercenaries and explorers. Over time the tavern became famous for its traveling weavers who traded tapestries that remembered the scenes they were shown. The Loomway once weathered a sieged caravan raid and later hosted a treaty signing between three merchant houses, cementing its reputation as a neutral ground. After Maraz's retirement, the tavern was kept open by his adopted daughter and a rotating council of senior adventurers who owe it favors.

History

Quirks

The tapestries occasionally rearrange themselves when the moon is right, creating new walkways and hiding small items. The tavern's resident cat, Threadtip, steals single glimmercoins and is remarkably good at returning them — to the person who left them behind, but only if that person hums a particular tune. Patrons who leave a story with the barkeep may find it woven into a tapestry the following week for a small fee. The jobboard operates on a 'one secret per job' rule: anyone who posts a task must offer up one rumor or obscure fact in exchange for space, or the board will inexplicably swallow the notice.

Lore

Weavers of the Loomway learned an old coastal technique that binds memory-thread to cloth. Legends claim the original weaver learned the craft from a stranded sea-sorcerer who traded a vial of storm-blood for a blanket. The tapestries are not true scrying devices, but the most skilled can 'read' stitched moments as if recalling a dream. The tavern is whispered to be on a ley-channel crossroad, which explains why spellcasters from several nations stop here to re-attune or to barter small charms. The Loomway's crest is a stylized needle threading a star; those who display the crest have an easier time getting private information and safe passage among the caravan network.
