Quirks

The owner rings a small brass gryphon bell before last call and anyone who rings it afterward owes a silver to the house. The barmaid, Lyre, wears a ribbon on the left sleeve when she is short-tempered and on the right when she is in a flirting mood. The stable cat, 'Soot', will steal unattended food but will reward a returned pet with a warm purr and a clue to local gossip.

Locals joke that the tavern sits at a crossroads of small ley currents; nothing magical in the obvious sense, but travelers often find luck here. Old tales say a gryphon once nested on the hill above the road and its feather became the inn's first sign.
