The Hearth & Hearten
Built three generations ago by Marta's great-uncle as a roadside bakery, the building was enlarged after a summer plague when traveling merchants rerouted through this hamlet. Marta bought the inn after she returned from years of service as the town militia captain; she kept the old oven's brickwork and the original signboard. Over time the Hearth & Hearten became a favored waypoint for caravans crossing the ridge and a place where soldiers and scholars can meet in relative peace.
