Allandil: The Lattice Rest
The Lattice Rest opened thirty years ago as a single boarded shop front on the market row. The name comes from the latticework windows its original owner carved to keep the wind out while letting in the market noise. Over two human generations it grew into a cheap inn favored by laborers, caravan drivers, and sailors. When the elven quarter expanded downriver, the Lattice Rest became a riotous counterpoint to elven salons. Roran bought the place ten years ago, turned the upstairs into tiny rented rooms, and began acting as an informal broker for merchants and adventurers. Brock arrived as a bouncer five years ago after a short military career and never left. The tavern has survived arson scares, a plague month, and at least one city watch raid when a politician's ledger turned up in the back room.
