History

The Hearth & Hayloft has stood at the village crossroads for three generations, initially serving only farmhands and traders passing through. The warm atmosphere and hearty meals won the hearts of locals and travelers alike. Hilda took over the inn from her late father, a famed cook who once catered for a baron's wedding feast.

Quirks

The inn is always filled with the scent of baking bread and woodsmoke. Hilda insists on greeting newcomers by name (even if she clearly doesn't know them) and often hands out her 'famous' honey butter for free. Most evenings, a stray cat named Pumpkin can be seen weaving between patrons' feet, searching for treats.

Lore

Stories tell of the inn's cellar being part of an older manor, long abandoned by a family who mysteriously vanished generations ago. Some claim that on certain nights, faint music or voices can be heard behind the locked cellar door, and the cats always avoid that part of the inn.
