The tavern became the de facto meeting place for treasure seekers chasing the rumors of Viking gold and ancient artifacts locked beneath the glaciers.

Quirks

The tavern’s door is rimed with magically sustained frost — every time someone opens it, a cold gust seems to blow inside, encouraging patrons to crowd closer to the fire. Frequent patrons sometimes bring odd maritime trophies that decorate the walls, including preserved siren scales and frozen sea serpents' teeth.

Lore

Local legend speaks of the Frozen Anchor’s site as once being the resting place of an ancient sea titan slain by the earliest explorers of Eiselcross. The vault doors are said to be warded by enchantments woven from the titan’s last breath, making it impervious to mundane theft. Some believe that the kraken head above the gambling table is imbued with the spirit of a drowned captain who guides the fortunes of those daring enough to tempt the game.
