The Last Bastion
Built at the turn of the third age by hands rumored to include deserters of the Silent Archives, the Last Bastion began as a waypoint for refugees fleeing the Archives' harvests. Over decades it grew into a safehouse: basements were dug for hiding scrolls, the loft became a map room, and coded pins were introduced to discreetly signal danger. Legends say the inn's stones were laid from the ruins of a watchtower that once watched the very Archives the founders defied. The current keeper, Maeron Ashvale, inherited the inn from his late mentor, one of the original conspirators.
