Quirks

Every transaction printed on the tavern's ledger briefly glows with the face of the payer's most recent lawful patron or employer until the ink cools. A house rule: brawls are only permitted if both parties pay an extra 'tidiness fee' (turned over to the staff to pay for repairs). Patrons often tip in bound mana rather than coin, and the house speaks the time in 'pulses' (a local timing habit tied to the city's mana tide).

In the Kingdom of Solara, 'mana' is measured in crystalline forms: minor mana shards (small), greater sigils (medium), and bonded auras (rare). The Gilded Gauntlet helped standardize exchange rates between these forms and served as a neutral clearinghouse during the Siege of Scions, when the crown needed a trusted intermediary. Rumor says the tavern sits above a thin seam between the Material and a minor fey strand; that seam is why The Gauntlet attracts bards, feyfolk, and those who specialize in tricksy contracts.
