Patrons tap a certain three-note rhythm on the table to signal a safe approach. Musicians change a line in their set when a stranger is to be tested. Mugs are stamped with hidden sigils that store small messages in grooves only regulars can read. The tavern's bell is rung once for a dock rumor, twice for a smuggled shipment, and thrice only for a request from the Admiral himself.

Lore

Old salts say the Bone Lantern stands where a drowned lighthouse once saved a fleet. The first owners kept a lantern carved from an old ship's rib that never seemed to go out, even in a storm. Sailors swear that if you hear the third chorus of 'Harrow of the Deep' and the bell on the quay rings twice, a marked face nearby is not what it seems.
