The Plumed Anchor
The Plumed Anchor began as a lean-to where fisherman traded fish for bread and beer. About twenty-five years ago Mirabel's grandmother, a wandering performer who loved chickens, convinced the harbor community to let her turn the lean-to into a proper tavern. Over time the chicken motif grew as a tavern joke—costumed entertainers and enchanted barnyard birds were added for charm, and the tavern became a favorite among sailors and small-time smugglers. Mirabel inherited it and, with a bit of bardic showmanship and a few discreet contacts among the harborfolk, turned it into the bustling dockside pub it is today.
