Strega Assetata
Strega Assetata opened two decades ago in a rickety boathouse where the tide left driftwood and old bottles. Its name, which means Thirsty Witch, comes from a local tale about a woman who brewed a potion to calm storms and then vanished into a fog, leaving behind a recipe for a potent sea-ale. The pub grew as sailors, fishermen and smugglers found it a convenient place to offload goods, swap stories and hire crews. Over the years the building was patched with planks from wrecks and painted with surge marks that mark particularly violent tides. The tavern survived a minor raid by coastal raiders five years ago after its patrons banded together to fight them off. Since then, the owner has kept a ledger and a wilder collection of regulars, from shipwrights to amateur spellcasters.
