The Wandering Wyvern

The Wandering Wyvern began as a single painted wagon by Marta and two friends who preferred the road to the city. Over five years the caravan grew into a troupe: a cook, a tinker, a pair of performers, and a handful of seasonal hands. They earned a reputation for fair trades, good stories, and sheltering those who couldn't afford a bed in town. The caravan earned its name after a night the troupe scare-mustered a sleeping wyvern hatchling and saved it from hunters — they painted a wyvern on their wagon in thanks. Though the wyvern hasn't been seen since, the name stuck.

History

Quirks

Every third night the caravan rearranges the rugs and lanterns into a new configuration; patrons are encouraged to leave a small trinket in the central 'Wishing Pot'. The tavern hums with soft, improvisational music — Marta or one of the troupe will never pass a night without a song or a story. Bargaining for food and favors is common; the caravan accepts trade (artwork, information, or services) instead of coin on occasion.

Lore

Local whisperers say Gypsie-style taverns like The Wandering Wyvern have old charms sewn into their rugs and wagon planks to ward off ill luck and prying eyes. Some caravans are rumored to be part of older, secret networks of messengers and safe houses used by rebels, lovers, and traveling cultists alike. The Silver Needle Tea is a minor regional specialty: a careful infusion of a rare leaf that some herbalists tie to clearer sight and better dreams. In some towns, sharing a meal with the caravan is said to tie your fate lightly to theirs — stay friendly, and the road may answer when you call.
