The Whetstone Hearth
Built thirty years ago by an ex-adventurer who liked long roads and the smell of wet leather, the tavern began as little more than a wayside inn and farrier. Over the years it became a stopping point for merchants, small hunting parties, and traveling knights. The current tavernkeeper bought the place a decade ago and renovated the stable and chapel after a flood. Locals call it a safe place for adventurers because the owner keeps old favors owed by mercenaries and clergy tucked behind the ledger. Rumors say an old vault under the floor was sealed when the founder disappeared, but the tavern has always preferred to keep secrets as a line of business.
