The Brine & Billet

The Brine & Billet was built decades ago atop the bones of a half-sunken longship, using the ancient timbers as floorboards. It’s been a seafarers’ haunt ever since, surviving fires, riots, a minor kraken attack, and even being submerged (briefly) in a magical storm. No one’s quite sure who first founded it, though Boril claims he found the deed under a barnacle-encrusted chest in the cellar.

History

It’s been a seafarers’ haunt ever since, surviving fires, riots, a minor kraken attack, and even being submerged (briefly) in a magical storm. Quirks

At sunset, a battered bell hung near the hearth rings out a chaotic tune, signaling 'lagoon hour' when drinks cost half-price for the next thirty minutes. The staff includes Kenku runners who mimic orders in uncanny voices.

Lore

Local legend holds that drinking the last drop from a Dockwater Ale barrel guarantees safe passage at sea. Some believe the tavern is protected by the ghost of the ship it’s built on—occasionally, spectral lights flicker beneath the floor during storms. Others whisper of a hidden underwater tunnel leading straight from the cellars to the open ocean, used by all manner of folk best left unscrutinized.
