The Hearth & Hollow
Built thirty years ago by a retired woodsman and his partner, the Hearth & Hollow started as a single-room stopping place for shepherds and hunters. After a flood wiped out a nearby bridge, Maera's predecessor widened the inn and added the stable to serve traffic along the new ford. Over the years the inn became a hub for trade gossip, lost items reunited, and the odd clandestine deal. Maera bought the inn ten years ago after saving the previous owner from a hunting accident; she expanded the upstairs and instituted the 'ledger' to keep the peace among repeat patrons.
