The Silver Spindle
The Silver Spindle began as a weaver's house two generations ago and became an inn when the nearby road grew busy after a regional mill opened. Mara's mother bought the building with a small sewing guild's investment; Mara took over when her mother fell ill and spent her youth learning to brew and to sing for coin. The inn served as a muster point during a small border skirmish years ago and still hosts the monthly council for the village. Over the years it has accumulated the odd relic — a carved spindle from a long-gone guild and an old skirmish banner used as a curtain behind the stage.
