Vael'aranthe rose as an ancient elven capital of craft and star lore and flourished for generations. Sixty years ago a coup placed Archon Maelrith on the throne and fractured institutions of rule. The exiled true sovereign, High Matron Elanwe, vanished and later reappeared as a hidden patron of hybrid communities. Since then the city's vast dungeons began to change their layout daily and the metropolis adapted to living on a shifting foundation.
