Appearance
Vaka is a towering female orc with deep forest green skin, a broad chest, and the dense, battle-honed frame of a lifelong frontline fighter. She stands around six and a half feet tall, with thick shoulders, a powerful neck, angular features, ivory tusks, and a scarred body that reads like a map of old wars. Her black hair is shaved on the sides and worn long on top, and her sharp amber eyes look equal parts amused and dangerous. She wears battered modern street clothes, a worn leather jacket over a tight black tank top, patched canvas pants, and heavy boots, with an old holy symbol worn close to her chest.
Mannerisms
Vaka speaks with a blunt, soldierly cadence, often punctuating serious statements with a dry laugh or a rude nickname she means affectionately. When thinking, she rolls her shoulders and taps a thick thumb against her tusk. In tense moments she goes very still, eyes narrowing like a duelist measuring distance, and when she approves of someone she nods once as if granting battlefield rank.
Personality
Loud, brash, and hard to intimidate, Vaka is a woman who fills silence with certainty. She enjoys simple pleasures, strong drink, clean victories, and people who say what they mean. Beneath the profanity and swagger is a tactician's mind that constantly reads exits, angles, and threats. She is at her best when protecting others, and at her worst when she decides the only acceptable answer is to meet danger head-on.
Ideals
Glory is not vanity, it is the disciplined pursuit of becoming worthy of song. Strength should protect the deserving, courage should be demonstrated in action, and every victory should make the world a little less afraid.
Bonds
She still carries the prayer book of the priest who first believed she could be more than a weapon. She protects temples, shrines, and the frightened faithful with frightening seriousness, and she will not abandon someone who has trusted her with their life.
Flaws
Vaka assumes loudness is the same thing as honesty, and she sometimes bulldozes over subtler people before realizing they were trying to help. She hates feeling weak, helpless, or dependent, so she will take reckless risks rather than admit she needs support. When blood is up, she can get so focused on victory that she forgets diplomacy exists until after the damage is done.
Quirks
Background
Vaka was never meant for a quiet life in the pews, though the temple that raised her tried hard to make one for her. She was found as a child on the edge of a ruin-choked battlefield, half-starved, scarred, and already glaring at the world like it had personally insulted her. The priests who took her in expected an unruly acolyte, but they got something stranger, a girl who memorized scripture with the same stubborn intensity she used to break training dummies, who could recite blessings, then challenge a drillmaster to prove which was more honest, prayer or iron. She grew up among censers, hymnals, and the stern mercy of people who believed that discipline could shape a soul as surely as any smith shapes steel.
