Appearance
A copper-scaled dragonborn woman with polished brass horns, amber eyes, and a posture that never quite forgets court etiquette. She wears a well-tailored noble cloak over practical scale mail, with a silver holy symbol hanging beside a signet ring. Her expression is calm and appraising, as if weighing both the value of a person and the state of their soul.
Mannerisms
She speaks after a measured pause, as if weighing each word before it leaves her mouth. When thinking, she taps one claw against her signet ring in a slow, steady rhythm. She bows with perfect noble formality even to commoners, but she does it with genuine respect, not condescension.
Personality
Seralyth is composed, observant, and quietly exacting. She believes kindness is most meaningful when it is disciplined enough to endure inconvenience. She rarely raises her voice, but when she does, the room tends to listen. Beneath her polish is a dry sense of humor and a stubborn streak that appears whenever anyone tries to bully the weak or manipulate her with titles.
Ideals
Balance. Power should be used to preserve order and protect the vulnerable, not to exalt the powerful. Mercy and discipline must exist together, or neither is trustworthy.
Bonds
She still carries her family signet and refuses to let her house name be disgraced by cruelty or cowardice. She secretly sends part of every stipend to a temple infirmary that once saved her life.
Flaws
She struggles to trust overt displays of devotion, assuming most grand declarations hide selfish motives. In moments of stress she becomes imperious and precise, as if everyone around her is a servant failing an inspection. She also has a dangerous habit of taking responsibility for every wound in the room, even when it costs her sleep, safety, or good judgment.
Quirks
Background
Seralyth Vaerun was born to a line of dragonborn stewards who served a merchant-princely house, a family taught that bloodline mattered less than duty, presentation, and results. From childhood she was trained to speak with measured grace, to keep records, to memorize genealogies, and to stand perfectly still through ceremonies that lasted hours. She excelled at all of it, but the more she learned about the machinery of noble power, the less she trusted the people who claimed divine favor while hiding behind titles and silk. Her turning point came during a winter famine, when she saw a temple turn its stores toward the poor before a banquet hall had finished counting its silver plates. The act struck her harder than any sermon. She took vows not to a single god, but to the practical mercy behind all worthy gods, the kind that keeps people alive long enough to choose their own destinies. Now she travels as a cleric in service to balance, healing where she can, judging when she must, and quietly testing whether the lofty ideals of nobility and the humble discipline of faith can coexist without one devouring the other.
