Appearance
Wily Wyatt is a slender Warforged built from dark ironwood, burnished steel, and mismatched brass plates collected during years of travel. Their face is a smooth, expressionless mask marked with a narrow vertical visor that glows amber when they cast spells. A weathered green cloak hangs over their leather armor, and small strips of parchment, trail maps, and cryptic notes are tucked into every available seam. Their left hand has been replaced with a finely articulated brass prosthetic after an encounter with a rust monster. Faint violet sigils pulse beneath the plates around their throat, evidence of their pact.
Mannerisms
Wyatt pauses for exactly three seconds before answering difficult questions, as though consulting an internal field manual. They tilt their head when confused, tap two fingers against their brass prosthetic while thinking, and refer to natural phenomena as if they were military reports.
Personality
Wyatt is precise, observant, and unfailingly polite, with the dry patience of someone accustomed to waiting out storms and sieges. They enjoy collecting local sayings and using them incorrectly in formal conversation. Although they appear emotionally distant, Wyatt is quietly fascinated by ordinary living habits, especially eating, sleeping, music, and mourning.
Ideals
Purpose. A person is defined by the promises they choose to keep, not by the purpose for which they were created.
Bonds
The abandoned soldiers of Wyatt's former unit deserve to be remembered, and Wyatt is determined to locate their names, their families, or whatever remains of their final expedition. They also feel bound to the mysterious presence beneath the glacier, believing that every pact must be honored even when its meaning is unclear.
Flaws
Wyatt obeys written orders too readily, even when the order is obviously foolish, dangerous, or forged. They are also unnervingly willing to accept bargains whose consequences they have not fully understood.
Quirks
Background
Wily Wyatt was manufactured for a war that ended before they could understand what victory was supposed to mean. Assigned to chart supply routes through hostile wilderness, Wyatt learned to read weather, terrain, and troop movements with precise efficiency. When the war ended, their unit was abandoned in a remote mountain pass, where Wyatt spent years following old orders that no longer had anyone left to obey them. Eventually, they began wandering simply because every road seemed to contain a question worth answering. Their pact began in a place that no living map records, a silent cavern beneath a glacier where Wyatt discovered a black stone covered in writing that changed whenever they looked away. The presence behind the stone did not offer friendship, only knowledge, and Wyatt accepted on the grounds that a contract was easier to understand than faith. Now they travel as an occult pathfinder, taking work as a guide, scout, and problem solver while listening for instructions hidden in dreams they do not technically need. Wyatt insists that their patron's demands are manageable, but they have started finding unfamiliar symbols carved into their own armor.
