Appearance
A lean, long-limbed drow male with deep blue-gray skin, silver-white hair worn in a loose braid, and pale lavender eyes that seem almost reflective in darkness. His features are fine and composed, softened by a thoughtful expression that rarely leaves his face. He wears dark chain mail beneath a weathered gray-green cloak, with a longbow kept carefully waxed and a pair of handaxes secured at his hip. A small carved bone pendant, taken from a mountain ibex, hangs at his throat.
Mannerisms
Veyruq speaks softly and pauses before answering, as though testing each word for hidden danger. He keeps his back to walls, checks the tension of his bowstring whenever he enters a new place, and traces small geometric patterns on his wrist while thinking.
Personality
Quietly observant and patient, Veyruq studies people the way he studies terrain. He is gentle with the frightened, respectful toward skilled survivors, and intensely curious about magic. He rarely boasts, but his calm becomes quietly stubborn when someone claims that cruelty is the only practical choice.
Ideals
Mastery. The bow and the spellbook are not separate paths. If I can unite martial discipline with arcane knowledge, I can survive any darkness and protect those who cannot.
Bonds
He carries a fragment of his sister's broken obsidian practice bow and intends to return to the Underdark one day, not for revenge, but to prove that another path is possible.
Flaws
He assumes every offer of kindness conceals a price, and when frightened or uncertain, he becomes distant rather than asking for help.
Quirks
Background
Veyruq was born far below the surface, in a drow settlement where survival depended on knowing when to remain unseen and when to strike first. He learned the bow before he learned to trust anyone, practicing in vast caverns where a missed shot might vanish into darkness and a careless footstep could summon something hungry. Though he was raised among people who treated cruelty as wisdom, Veyruq never accepted that suffering was proof of strength. He began secretly collecting scraps of forbidden magical theory, fascinated by the idea that disciplined study could shape the same forces that ruled the Underdark.
