Features
23 featuresAction
- Extra AttackLevel 5
When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can make two attacks instead of one.
Bonus action
- Second WindLevel 1
You can push yourself to regain stamina. Once on your turn, you can use a bonus action to regain 1d10 + 11 hit points. You can use this feature once per short or long rest.
Always on
- Precision AttackLevel 3
When When Vynessa makes an attack roll
A measured burst of well-practiced aggression, used to control an encounter through pressure and positioning.
- Menacing AttackLevel 3
When When Vynessa hits a creature with a weapon attack
A fear-inducing strike that turns force into compliance.
- Tactical AssessmentLevel 3
When When Vynessa makes an Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma check involving her training
A battlefield analysis check that extracts useful tactical insight from a target or environment.
- Fighting StyleLevel 1
You have learned the basics of combat and battlefield endurance. Your fighter hit die is d10, and your martial training grants broad weapon and armor proficiency.
- Fighting StyleLevel 1
You adopt one fighting style. Vynessa favors Defense in armorless or lightly protected situations only in concept, but in this build she relies on tactical positioning and precision rather than armor. In rules terms, choose a style appropriate to the campaign if armor is later acquired.
- Action SurgeLevel 2
You can briefly exceed your normal limits. On your turn, you can take one additional action. Once used, you must finish a short or long rest before using it again.
- Combat SuperiorityLevel 3
You learn to read openings, exploit timing, and control the flow of battle using maneuvers fueled by superiority dice. You have five superiority dice, each a d8, and you regain all expended dice when you finish a short or long rest.
- Martial Archetype: Battle MasterLevel 3
You learn three maneuvers. Recommended choices for Vynessa are Precision Attack, Menacing Attack, and Tactical Assessment or Riposte, depending on campaign tone. These maneuvers reflect a prison warden's calculated dominance and counterpressure.
- Student of WarLevel 3
You gain proficiency with one type of artisan's tools. Vynessa prefers tinker's tools, as they suit locks, restraints, and field repairs.
- Battle Master TrainingLevel 3
You add your superiority die to any initiative checks involving creatures you can see, if using the optional Battle Master interpretation from campaign expansions is allowed. In strict 2014 rules, use this feature only as written in your table's source for Battle Master maneuvers and superiority dice.
- Know Your EnemyLevel 7
You can examine a humanoid you can see and glean limited information about its combat capabilities, such as its Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Armor Class, current hit points, class levels, and fighter levels.
- Remarkable AthleteLevel 7
Your athletic training lets you add half your proficiency bonus, rounded down, to Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution checks you are not already proficient in. You also gain a standing jump and long jump improvement consistent with the feature.
- Improved Combat SuperiorityLevel 7
You have developed a deeper reserve of battle reflexes, improving your mastery of superiority dice as your combat training advances.
- IndomitableLevel 9
You can push a failing save through sheer discipline. Once per long rest, reroll a failed saving throw. At 9th level you can do this once, and at 13th level you gain a second use.

Vynessa can secure shelter, support, and access to correctional or military contacts from her old service network, provided she does not openly betray them. Rank, credentials, and a hard stare still open doors, even when the badge is no longer official.

Appearance
Vynessa is a high elf woman of severe, striking beauty, tall and straight-backed with an air of unyielding authority. Her skin is pale alabaster, her hair a cascade of silver pulled into a tight, intricate knot at the nape of her neck, and her eyes are a piercing frosty blue-white. Her features are angular and aristocratic, with high cheekbones, a straight narrow nose, and thin lips that rarely soften. She wears a tailored black modern tactical uniform, fitted trousers, a high-collared reinforced jacket, and black combat boots. A heavy pistol rides in a holster at her hip, while a utility belt carries pouches, a data-slate, and a multi-tool. Every detail of her appearance suggests discipline, command, and controlled menace.
Mannerisms
She speaks in clipped, exact sentences and rarely wastes words. Her gaze lingers a beat too long, as if she is already measuring a person's weaknesses. When displeased, she goes very still instead of raising her voice, and she often taps one gloved finger against her data-slate while thinking.
Personality
Vynessa is ruthlessly efficient, controlled, and intensely observant. She values competence, precision, and results, and she has little patience for theatrics or incompetence. She is not cruel for pleasure, but she is fully prepared to be cold if the outcome demands it. Beneath that frost lies a sharpened sense of betrayal, and she is far more compassionate toward the disciplined and the overlooked than she would ever admit aloud.
Ideals
Order. Stability prevents suffering, and discipline is the price of civilization. Mercy without structure is sentimentality, but structure without accountability becomes tyranny, and she intends to prove she can tell the difference.
Bonds
She still keeps one encrypted contact list of former prison staff, inmates, and Directorate officers, not out of nostalgia, but because information is leverage. She will not allow her family's name to be used to excuse cowardice, and she quietly intends to expose the specific officials who turned her into a scapegoat.
Flaws
Vynessa trusts systems more than people, and even then only provisionally. She can become coldly punitive when someone lies, wastes time, or fails under pressure, and she struggles to forgive weakness when it endangers a plan. Her need for control can make her blind to allies who do not think like she does.
Quirks
Background
Vynessa was born into one of Atrix Isle's most influential elf families, raised in a household where etiquette was a weapon and discipline was a sacrament. Her father served in the Arcane Containment Directorate, and from him she learned that order was not a philosophy, but a structure to be imposed, defended, and, when necessary, enforced with brutal precision. She excelled in every measure that mattered to her family, not because she loved their approval, but because she understood the value of competence. The weak were liabilities. The disorganized were dangerous. The sentimental were easy to manipulate. She entered corrections and internal security as a prison warden, where her intelligence, patience, and exacting standards made her indispensable. Vynessa knew how to read people, how to anticipate violence before it began, and how to break mutiny by cutting away its leadership. But institutions rot from the inside. Corruption, favoritism, and convenient lies eventually turned her into a problem rather than an asset. When the same people she had served decided she was easier to discard than to trust, Vynessa learned her final lesson, loyalty is only real until it becomes inconvenient. Now she moves through the world like a strategist in exile, still governed by structure, but no longer willing to serve any system that cannot survive scrutiny.
“She excelled in every measure that mattered to her family, not because she loved their approval, but because she understood the value of competence.”
