- Divine SenseLevel 1
The presence of strong evil registers on your senses like a noxious odor, and powerful good rings like heavenly music in your ears. As an action, you can open your awareness to detect such forces. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any celestial, fiend, or undead within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You can use this feature 3 times per long rest.
- Lay on HandsLevel 1
Your blessed touch can heal wounds. You have a pool of healing power that replenishes when you take a long rest. With that pool, you can restore a total of 5 hit points. As an action, you can touch a creature and draw power from the pool to restore a number of hit points to that creature, up to the maximum amount remaining in your pool.

Appearance
Paladin is a tall, broad shouldered man with short, tidy brown hair and a clean shaven face. His eyes are a striking blue, filled with an intense, steady focus. He wears well maintained chain mail over a clean white tabard adorned with the symbol of a golden sun. Even in the heat of battle, he maintains an air of composed, stoic grace.
Mannerisms
He has a habit of clasping his hands behind his back whenever he is standing still, as if he were still in a monastic line.
Personality
I am incredibly slow to trust those who do not share my devotion, yet I am fiercely loyal to those who earn my respect. I find comfort in routine and prayer, believing that discipline is the only true way to honor the divine. I speak with a soft but firm voice, rarely raising it except to deliver a righteous command or a holy battle cry.
Ideals
Faith. I trust that my deity will guide my actions and provide me with the strength to overcome any trial.
Bonds
I will one day return to my monastery with enough glory and wealth to rebuild its crumbling libraries.
Flaws
I judge others harshly by my own rigid standards of morality and frequently fail to see the necessity of compromise.

Background
Paladin was raised within the hallowed stone walls of a mountain monastery, having been left on the doorstep as an infant. His childhood was one of silence and study, spent transcribing holy texts and assisting the elder monks with their daily rites. While he excelled in his theological studies, he found himself drawn to the stories of the holy warriors of old who fought against the darkness beyond the temple walls. He began to secret away wooden swords, practicing the forms of combat in the moonlight after the evening prayers were finished. When a group of local bandits threatened the monastery, the monks had no defense, having long embraced a life of peace. Paladin could not stand by and watch his home be destroyed. He broke into the armory, took up an ancestral shield, and held the gates single handedly until help arrived. It was in that moment of crisis that he felt the spark of divine purpose ignite within him, realizing his calling was to be a shield for the defenseless. He was given a formal blessing and a suit of mail, sent out into the world to serve as a beacon of justice. He travels now as a wanderer with a clear mission, seeking to find those in need of protection. He views every encounter as a test of his faith and every victory as a testament to the divine path. Though the outside world is far more chaotic and morally grey than the monastery he left behind, he carries his temple within him, refusing to let the shadows of the world dim his inner light.
