Appearance
Morgan is a thirty-five year old woman with a lean, wiry build and weathered, sun-baked skin. Her face is sharp with high cheekbones and a crooked nose that speaks of past violence. Her short dark hair is practical and touched with grey at the temples. She wears a long, unbuttoned leather coat over stained traveler clothes and high-laced boots. A curved ivory-handled dagger is always at her ribs.
Mannerisms
She constantly adjusts her gear for a quick departure and avoids prolonged eye contact, preferring to watch doorways.
Personality
She is intensely alert and guarded, moving with a quiet strength that suggests she is always scanning for the next threat. She speaks in clipped, direct sentences and rarely trusts a friendly face without proof of their intentions. Discreet and reliable, she prefers the silence of the dunes to the noise of the city.
Ideals
Survival. The desert doesn't care for morality, it only cares that you keep breathing. I will be the one who makes it back to the oasis.
Bonds
The memory of my family drives me to stop those who would use the sandwyrms for their own twisted power.
Flaws
I assume everyone has an angle or a price. My lack of trust makes it nearly impossible to form lasting alliances.
Quirks
Background
Morgan was born to a nomadic desert tribe, learning the rhythm of the sands before she ever saw a stone wall. Her life was shattered as a teenager when a sandwyrm attack destroyed her family caravan, leaving her as the sole survivor in a vast wasteland. She drifted to the city of Zahra-Nur and survived by navigating the urban sprawl with the same instincts she used in the desert, eventually becoming a elite courier for an underworld lord named Malik. For five years, she was his most reliable ghost, transporting secrets across the Sunken Oasis. Three weeks ago, her life changed again. Tasked with delivering a sealed scroll to a remote waystation, she arrived to find her contact murdered and a sandwyrm cult discussing a trade of human lives for powerful wyrm-eggs. Realizing the horror Malik was potentially involved with, or at least enabling, she stole the intelligence and fled. Now she lives on the run, using every trick of the desert to stay one step ahead of Malik's assassins and the robed cultists.
