Appearance
Rene is a slight human girl with an almost doll-like face, luminous pale skin, and long dark hair tied with white and crimson ribbons. Her hair is so dark that it looks blue-black under moonlight, while her eyes remain bright and lively, usually crinkled with genuine amusement. She wears a beautifully maintained white-and-gold princess dress beneath a short black mantle embroidered with tiny ouroboros symbols. The dress is cute, formal, and completely impractical for battlefield work, which makes the enormous golden scythe in her hands all the more startling. The weapon is taller than she is, with a crescent blade that glows like polished sunlight. Within a minute of meeting her, people notice that Rene stands far too close when speaking, smiling as though they are already friends. The grip of her scythe is worn smooth exactly where her small hands rest, and the ribbons in her hair are perpetually singed at their tips by stray necromantic sparks.
Mannerisms
Rene laughs softly at the end of alarming statements, tilts her head when casting enchantment magic, and frequently pats the flat of her scythe as though reassuring a beloved pet. She leans into conversations until people retreat, then cheerfully follows their new distance.
Personality
Rene is relentlessly cheerful, affectionate, and curious. She laughs easily, compliments enemies on interesting tactics, and asks personal questions while preparing devastating spells. Beneath the sweetness is a frighteningly precise mind that notices every hesitation, lie, and emotional weakness. She prefers winning through manipulation, but she is perfectly willing to bring down her golden scythe when subtlety becomes boring.
Ideals
Control. Fear is only ignorance wearing a mask. If Rene understands a mind, a battlefield, or a soul completely, then she can prevent needless suffering, whether the other person agrees or not.
Bonds
Rene is fiercely loyal to Ouroboros, not because she blindly trusts its leaders, but because it gave her a place where her frightening talents were treated as something more than a family embarrassment. She also secretly protects the staff of her childhood home, especially the old housekeeper who still sends her ribbon bundles and scolds her for ruining dresses.
Flaws
Rene treats nearly every situation as a game, including grief, negotiation, and imminent death. She cannot resist proving that she is the cleverest person in the room, and her cheerful certainty makes her dangerously slow to recognize betrayal. She also believes that anyone who stops laughing has probably lost the argument.

Background
Rene Bright was born into a minor human aristocratic household whose only real inheritance was a sealed library beneath the family chapel. At six years old, she opened the wrong book and found a complete treatise on the architecture of souls. Rather than being frightened, she laughed at the diagrams, corrected three errors in the margins, and spent the next eight years teaching herself wizardry from forbidden notes. Her tutors called her a prodigy. Her family called her a catastrophe. The organization Ouroboros called her useful, and gave her the designation Enforcer Number 15.
