Appearance
Thanx is a stocky dwarf with skin like weathered granite and a thick, wild beard of deep auburn. His beard is haphazardly braided with small animal bones and wolf fangs. He wears soot-stained chain mail and a heavy green cloak lined with bear fur. His eyes are a bright, piercing blue that contrasts sharply with the dirt often smudged on his face.
Mannerisms
Thanx tends to pace whenever he is indoors, looking visible uncomfortable by ceilings. He often hums low, rhythmic dwarven work songs while he sharpens his weapons or cooks over a fire.
Personality
Thanx is a boisterous and fiercely independent soul who finds more comfort under the stars than under a stone ceiling. He is quick to laugh and even quicker to defend the downtrodden. He speaks with a booming voice and has little patience for complex etiquette or rigid laws that serve only to stifle the common folk.
Ideals
Freedom. No person should be held back by the chains of tradition or the greed of the powerful. The world belongs to those who are brave enough to walk it.
Bonds
I carry a wolf fang given to me by a wood elf who saved my life when I first reached the surface. I will always stand by those who live on the fringes of society.
Flaws
I have a deep-seated distrust of authority and often pick fights with people in power just to see them lose their composure. I am also prone to acting before I think if I see someone being treated unfairly.
Quirks
Background
Thanx was born into the Bonehammer clan, a prestigious family of miners and smiths deep within the Iron Peaks. While his kin were obsessed with the quality of their veins and the rigidity of their social ranks, Thanx felt the suffocating weight of the mountain. He spent his youth sneaking to the surface, fascinated by the chaotic beauty of the wild forests and shifting skies. His life changed when an overseer's negligence led to a cave-in, trapping his scouting party. The clan elders declared them lost, refusing to risk profits for a rescue. Thanx alone survived, clawing his way through the rubble and spending years surviving the high wilderness. During those years, he realized that the strength of the hammer should not be used to build walls and hoard gold, but to break chains and protect those the world has forgotten. He abandoned his clan name for a time, but later reclaimed it to spite those who had left him for dead, intending to forge a new legacy outside the dark tunnels. Now, he wanders the borders of civilization, a freelance guardian who trusts the wind more than the words of kings.
