Appearance
Spectre stands six feet two inches tall, with a lean, athletic build shaped by constant movement and combat. His roguishly handsome face carries a day's worth of dark stubble, framed by neatly trimmed short brown hair and sharp, perceptive eyes. He wears a high-collared black doublet with silver embroidery, a crisp white shirt with ruffled cuffs, dark trousers, polished black leather boots, and a heavy black wool cloak trimmed in dark fur. His clothing resembles the attire of a noble lord, elegant and authoritative without being ostentatious.
Mannerisms
Spectre speaks with smooth, measured precision and a faintly aristocratic British cadence. He rarely raises his voice. When thinking, he rotates his silver clasp between two fingers, and when threatened, he becomes perfectly still rather than visibly tense. He addresses people by full name whenever he wants their attention and by title whenever he wants to remind them of their obligations.
Personality
Spectre is effortlessly charming, observant, and composed. He makes people feel fascinating and valued, but maintains a careful emotional distance that reveals almost nothing about himself. His confidence borders on arrogance without quite crossing the line, and he treats conversation as both an art and a battlefield. Beneath the polished manners lies a survivor who still listens for danger in every silence.
Ideals
Order. The universe may be chaotic, but discipline gives a person the power to impose meaning upon it. Spectre believes freedom without control is merely another form of weakness.
Bonds
He protects the nameless children, beggars, and fugitives of the city that raised him. He also seeks the truth behind the strange force that returns him from death, believing someone or something placed his soul outside the ordinary laws of mortality.
Flaws
He is so accustomed to concealing his true motives that even honest affection can sound like manipulation. Spectre is slow to trust, quicker to judge, and privately convinced that most rules exist for lesser minds. His belief in his own immortality encourages reckless choices, especially when protecting someone he considers his responsibility.
Quirks
Background
Spectre remembers the city before he remembers himself. As a child, he survived in alleys, abandoned bell towers, and forgotten crypts, learning to read danger in footsteps and hunger in a person's eyes. He stole only what he needed, but he learned early that information was worth more than coin. An old street ascetic eventually caught him trying to rob a shrine. Rather than punish him, the ascetic taught him to breathe through pain, move without sound, and strike with the force of someone who had nothing left to lose. Spectre became a monk, though he never abandoned the instincts of the Urchin. The streets were his first monastery, and every locked door was a lesson in patience.
