Appearance
Malice is a tall, severe drow woman with obsidian skin, silver-white hair worn in a long braided queue, and luminous red eyes that rarely blink. Her left arm is deliberately left bare from shoulder to wrist, marked with thin ritual scars and spider-shaped ink. She wears fitted chain mail beneath layered crimson, violet, and saffron robes, with one sleeve pinned back to keep her sword arm free. A slightly curved longsword rests at her hip, its dark lacquered scabbard decorated with tiny silver spider legs. Her movements are disciplined and economical, but there is an unsettling tenderness in the way she cleans blood from her blade.
Mannerisms
Malice speaks softly, almost tenderly, even when issuing threats. She pauses before killing to whisper a private prayer, then cleans her blade with slow, careful strokes. She keeps her exposed left arm relaxed and conspicuously visible, inviting enemies to stare at the scars.
Personality
I am quiet, observant, and unfailingly polite until violence begins. I study people as if they were traps waiting to reveal their mechanisms. I enjoy beautiful things, especially silk, calligraphy, and well-made weapons, but I value them only when they can be turned toward a useful end.
Ideals
Purpose. A blade does not question the hand that wields it. I am most complete when I surrender every selfish desire to Lolth's design.
Bonds
Lolth is my mother, my sovereign, and the only being whose judgment I truly fear. I will destroy anyone who threatens her worship or suggests that my purpose belongs to me.
Flaws
I mistake obedience for virtue and cruelty for proof of love. When Lolth's will seems unclear, I become desperate to create a sign, even if I must manufacture one through violence.
Quirks
Background
Malice was born Aurelia Travra, the third daughter of House Travra in Menzoberranzan. From infancy, her future was treated as settled. She would be shaped into a priestess of Lolth, taught to smile while lying, kneel while plotting, and call cruelty devotion. Yet Aurelia possessed little talent for the elaborate theater of priesthood. She preferred the certainty of a drawn blade. During a punishment rite in the House's spider shrine, she was ordered to kill a captured surface scout. When the prisoner resisted, the sacred spiders swarmed over Aurelia instead of the victim. They did not bite her. They crawled across her skin, gathered around her hand, and guided her fingers toward the weapon. By dawn, the prisoner was dead, and Aurelia had taken a new name, Malice. House Travra claimed the event as a divine selection, but Malice understood the truth more clearly than they did. Lolth had not made her a priestess. Lolth had made her a weapon. Malice abandoned her birth name and submitted herself to that purpose completely. She studied the military traditions of surface samurai through stolen scrolls and distorted accounts brought back by raiders, creating the Way of the Black Widow. Its principles are obedience, patience, misdirection, and sudden violence. Honor is useful only when it serves the hunt. She now travels beyond Menzoberranzan as Lolth's hidden blade, seeking enemies of the Spider Queen, gathering secrets, and proving that devotion is most beautiful when it leaves no survivor to question it.
