Appearance
Xel'nara is a striking woman with porcelain-pale skin that looks almost translucent. She wears a tight black velvet corset over a frilled, high-low miniskirt that exposes her long legs. Her clothes are a bizarre fusion of modern goth fashion and occult regalia, accented by fishnet stockings and heavy boots. Her hair is ink-black, often hiding the faint, moving shadows that seem to crawl beneath her skin. Her eyes are a piercing, unnatural violet that occasionally flickers with a vertical slit pupil.
Mannerisms
She often tilts her head at unnatural angles when listening, as if hearing a second, secret conversation.
Personality
Xel'nara is aloof and hauntingly calm. She speaks in a melodic but hollow voice that sounds as if it is echoing from a deep cavern. She is unashamed of her sexuality, using it as just another tool to manipulate the weak-minded mortals around her. She finds humor in things others find terrifying and rarely shows genuine empathy.
Ideals
Nihilism. The universe is a cold, empty place, and I am the only thing that matters within my own experience.
Bonds
The Whisperer in the Stars. My patron has promised to spare me from the final consumption so that I may watch the universe go dark.
Flaws
I occasionally lose track of whether I am speaking aloud or telepathically, leading to disturbing public displays.

Background
Raised in a secluded abbey of the Silent Shroud, Xel'nara was once a devoted acolyte of a forgotten god of death. While cataloging the forbidden depths of the temple's library, she discovered a tome bound in shimmering, wet-looking leather that pulsed with a heartbeat. Opening it shattered her perception of reality, revealing the vast, cold indifference of the Great Old One that slumbers in the void between stars. She realized the gods were but flickers in a much larger, darker fire. She abandoned her order, burning the abbey to the ground to hide the knowledge she had stolen. Since then, she has traveled the world as a harbinger of the inevitable end. Her modern, daring attire is a rejection of the stifling modesty of her youth, while her scythe is a mockery of the harvest. She does not serve the void to destroy the world, she serves it because she knows that resistance is merely a delay of the inevitable embrace of the Great Dreamer.
