Appearance
Finnegan is a lithe vulpine with rust-red fur, striking white socks on their paws, and a bushy tail tipped in cream. Their eyes are the color of polished amber, always darting with curiosity. They wear a tattered cloak fashioned from woven moss and fallen leaves, and their leather armor is etched with intricate vine patterns. A band of dried wildflowers is tucked behind one ear.
Mannerisms
Finnegan tilts their head sharply when listening and has a habit of twitching their nose whenever they are about to tell a lie or an illusion.
Personality
Finnegan is quiet and watchful, often preferring the company of squirrels to people. They find most civilizations far too loud and rigid. They speak in riddles or metaphors involving the seasons. Despite their shy nature, they have a wicked sense of humor and love using illusions to pull harmless pranks on the self-important.
Ideals
Freedom. The world is a garden that should grow wild without fences or masters.
Bonds
I carry a seed from the Great Weald. It must be planted in a place of pure magic if my home should ever fall.
Flaws
I am deeply suspicious of anyone who uses fire or works with cold iron.
Quirks
Background
Finnegan was born in the heart of the Deep Weald, a forest where the veil between the Material Plane and the Feywild is thin. While their kin were content to hunt and forage, Finnegan was drawn to the shimmering lights that danced between the ancient oaks. They spent a decade in isolation near a forgotten shrine, studying the way light bent through the mist and how whispers sounded like songs. This solitude granted them a unique understanding of illusionary magic, which they used to protect their grove from encroachment. One autumn, a group of developers from the nearby city of Oakhaven attempted to survey the land for timber. Finnegan didn't use violence. Instead, they made the surveyors believe the trees were weeping blood and the ground was made of teeth. The surveyors fled, but Finnegan realized the forest was no longer safe as a secret. They have now ventured into the wider world to find a more permanent way to anchor their home's magical wards, using the gold and secrets they find in the city to fund their cause.
