- Favored EnemyLevel 1
Choose one type of favored enemy. Cevran has advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks to track goblinoids and orcs, and on Intelligence checks to recall information about them. He also learns Goblin.
- Natural ExplorerLevel 1
Choose one type of favored terrain. Cevran is especially capable in forest terrain: difficult terrain does not slow his group's travel, his group cannot become lost except by magical means, and he remains alert to danger while engaged in other travel activities. He can move stealthily at a normal pace alone, and when foraging he finds twice as much food and water. When tracking, he also learns the exact number, sizes, and how long ago the creatures passed.

Appearance
Cevran is a broad-shouldered, ordinary-looking human who seems to take up more room than he intends, often standing a little too close while listening. His dark hair is clipped short at the sides and curls forward over his brow; his clothes are practical and carefully mended, with a small wooden bird pinned inside his collar. Before answering, he draws a quiet breath through his nose, as though testing the air.
Mannerisms
He pauses for a small, audible intake of breath before speaking, then lowers his voice as if sharing a secret even in the open. When thinking, he turns his head slightly to listen toward the nearest window or doorway.
Personality
Patient and observant, Cevran listens carefully before offering a solution. He is warm with practical kindness, but his quiet way of speaking can make him seem more certain than he is.
Ideals
A community should have the means to protect itself. Help should leave people more capable, not more dependent.
Bonds
He carries a wooden bird carved by his mother, and intends to return to Siltwhistle with enough influence to keep its wells and grazing land in local hands.
Flaws
He has trouble leaving a frightened person to face danger alone, even when helping them risks the safety of everyone with him. He also overestimates how much people can hear when he speaks softly.
Quirks
Background
Cevran grew up in Siltwhistle, a farming hamlet known for the damp, sweet smell that rises from its reed beds after rain. He was a quiet, large-shouldered boy who learned to read animal tracks before he could make himself heard across a crowded room. His unusually quick mind made him useful with maps and boundary disputes, but it was his patience with the woods that earned the trust of neighbors who needed to know when a flood, predator, or stranger was coming.
