Appearance
Sera is a lean, athletic human woman standing about five feet eight inches tall. Her wiry strength comes from years of running, climbing, rooftop escapes, and surviving the undercity. She has warm olive skin marked by a thin scar across her collarbone and a small puckered scar on her left forearm. Her angular face has high cheekbones, a sharp jawline, and a straight nose that appears to have been broken and reset. Her most striking feature is her pair of wide-set, nearly black brown eyes, which constantly measure distances, exits, and threats. Her black hair is cut in a short, practical pixie style, tousled and slightly damp after a recent shower. She wears fitted dark gray shirts, black cargo pants, heavy lace-up boots, and a worn leather jacket with numerous useful pockets. For concealment, she adds a hoodie, cap, or raised collar.
Mannerisms
Sera pauses at thresholds to inspect hinges, locks, cameras, and sightlines before entering. She speaks in short, precise sentences, rarely raises her voice, and unconsciously positions herself with a wall or exit at her back. When thinking, she rolls a coin-sized washer across her knuckles, though she never carries it during a job.
Personality
Sera is practical, observant, and intensely self-reliant. She respects competence more than rank and has no patience for wasted motion, pointless cruelty, or sanctimonious leaders who have never bled for anyone. In a crisis she becomes terse, direct, and brutally effective. Beneath her guarded exterior is a fierce instinct to protect people who are being exploited, especially those too young, poor, or powerless to fight back.
Ideals
Freedom. No institution, syndicate, corporation, or noble house should own a person's future. Competence matters, but power without accountability is just another form of theft.
Bonds
She still protects the people of her old undercity block, especially the teenagers who remind her of herself before the syndicate found her. She keeps her brother's battered access badge and intends to use it to expose the corporation and crime family that destroyed her family.
Flaws
Sera assumes every kindness has a hidden price. She would rather vanish than admit she needs help, and her contempt for incompetent authority can turn a survivable situation into a personal confrontation.
Quirks
Background
Sera grew up beneath the elevated transit lines of a vast high fantasy city, in a district where enchanted advertisements glowed over streets that still flooded with chemical runoff and rain. Her mother repaired security wards for building owners, while her older brother ran messages through maintenance tunnels and service shafts. When the family fell behind on protection payments, a local syndicate took their workshop and forced Sera into courier work. She learned quickly that the city was built for people who could afford doors, while everyone else survived by knowing which windows stuck, which cameras blinked, and which guards could be bought.
