Appearance
A broad-shouldered goliath with slate-gray skin, pale speckling across his temples, and dark hair bound with a plain leather cord. He has an unusually square jaw and blunt, crowded teeth that show whenever he chews or smiles. Before speaking, he takes a quiet breath through his nose, then lets the first word come out low and measured. His travel clothes are carefully mended and much finer than his battered weapons.
Mannerisms
Before answering, he draws a deliberate breath through his nose and lets the silence stretch. When eating, he works his blunt teeth noisily through tough food; when amused, he laughs with his jaw thrust forward.
Personality
Patient and observant when a conversation can be turned to his advantage, Korrik becomes bluntly domineering once he thinks the other person has lost leverage. He treats charm as a practiced trade rather than a virtue.
Ideals
Power belongs to whoever can seize it and keep it. Rules are tools for controlling other people, not obligations he owes them.
Bonds
He keeps the trader's signet ring, the first prop of his false identity, and means to use it to gain access to the wealthy people who once profited from his clan's hardship.
Flaws
He takes any slight as a challenge to his authority, and he would rather ruin a useful relationship than admit someone has seen through him.
Quirks
Background
Korrik grew up among high mountain goliaths, where a person's word was expected to weigh as much as stone. He learned early that strength could settle an argument, but a well-timed lie could choose which argument got started. When a traveling trader cheated his clan, Korrik tracked the man down, took his goods, and discovered that wearing the trader's polished coat opened doors that his own name never would.
