Appearance
Korg is a towering goliath with skin the color of wet basalt, covered in faded blue nautical tattoos. His beard is braided with small weights and shark teeth. He wears heavy splint mail that has been intentionally rusted and treated with sea salt. He carries a massive, five-foot ship's anchor as a primary weapon.
Mannerisms
He has a habit of grinding his teeth which sounds like pebbles rolling in surf. He always stands with his legs wide, as if compensating for a ship's pitch even when on dry land.
Personality
Korg is as grim as a storm on the horizon. He rarely speaks, preferring the rhythmic creak of the ship's timbers to conversation. He views the sea as a cruel judge that has already tried to kill him and failed, giving him a fatalistic sense of invincibility. He is intensely loyal to the Drowned Anchor crew, seeing them as the only family he has left after his mountain clan cast him out.
Ideals
Might makes right. The ocean is the ultimate truth because it doesn't care if you're a king or a beggar when it drowns you.
Bonds
The crew of The Drowned Anchor are my only kin. I would plunge back into the lightless depths to save them.
Flaws
I am prone to fits of 'depth rage' when I see blue water, and I refuse to sleep unless I am chained to something heavy.
Quirks
Background
Born in the Cloudpeak Mountains, Korg was exiled for his violent temper and lack of respect for clan elders. He wandered down to the coast, finding work as a dockhand and eventually a mercenary on merchant cogs. His life changed during a voyage through the Sea of Fallen Stars when a rogue kraken dragged his ship beneath the waves. Korg was the only survivor, having lashed himself to a massive iron anchor that snagged on a reef just below the surface. He waited for two days, half-drowned and lungs full of brine, until a pirate ship named 'The Iron Vow' found him. He was brought aboard and impressed the pirates with his sheer physical power. He renamed his savior ship 'The Drowned Anchor' after a mutiny he led against the former cowardly captain. Since then, Korg has served as the crew's chief enforcer and boarding specialist. He treats every boarding action like a hunt in the mountains, but instead of chasing goats, he crushes the skulls of merchant sailors. He believes that because he died in those depths and came back, the sea now owes him everything it holds in its coffers.
