Appearance
Jon-Jon is a dwarf of average height with a stout build and a meticulously braided copper beard. He wears expensive-looking academic robes that have clearly been patched together with scraps of leather armor. He balances a pair of silver spectacles on his nose and often smells faintly of old parchment and spilled beer.
Mannerisms
He frequently clears his throat and begins sentences with 'Actually, as the texts say...' before improvising the rest of the sentence.
Personality
He acts much more knowledgeable than he actually is, often using multi-syllabic words incorrectly to impress commoners. Despite his academic failure, he is jovial, quick-witted, and maintains a silver tongue that gets him out of the trouble his sticky fingers cause.
Ideals
Innovation. Why do things the hard way with a pickaxe when you can do them the fun way with a spell and a lockpick?
Bonds
I still owe a considerable amount of tuition to the Gilded Spire, and I intend to pay it back by stealing from their alumni.
Flaws
I cannot resist corrected someone's magical pronunciation, even if I am the one who is wrong.
Quirks
Background
Born to a long line of respectable dwarven architects, Jon-Jon was expected to master transmutation magic to revolutionize the family masonry business. He was sent to the prestigious Gilded Spire, where he spent most of his time figuring out how to bypass the warding on the liquor cellar rather than studying for his Arcane Theory exams. After 'accidentally' transmuting the Headmaster's prize statue into a pile of very sentient but very rude cheese, Jon-Jon was promptly expelled. Lacking a degree but possessing a specific set of arcane and infiltration skills, he took to the life of a gentleman thief. He tells his parents he is on a very long-term field study concerning the socioeconomic impacts of dungeon ecology. In reality, he is just looking for enough gold to buy his way back into a less prestigious school or perhaps just buy the school entirely.
