Appearance
Aurelia is a tall, striking high elf with porcelain-pale skin, sharp cheekbones, and long silver-blond hair usually bound in a severe military braid. Her violet eyes are cold and watchful, and a thin scar crosses her left eyebrow. She wears polished chain mail beneath a black officer’s coat marked with the crimson sigil of House Malice. Her movements are precise and economical, and she carries herself like a judge who has already decided the verdict.
Mannerisms
She addresses strangers as if they are already under examination. Before making an important decision, she smooths the cuff of her glove and silently counts to three. She rarely raises her voice, because she expects people to lean closer when she speaks.
Personality
Controlled, incisive, and relentlessly observant. Aurelia speaks with formal courtesy even when issuing threats, treating every conversation as a negotiation in which the other person has not yet realized they are losing. She respects competence, despises waste, and shows unexpected patience toward disciplined soldiers and honest enemies.
Ideals
Order. A society ruled by clear authority is preferable to one ruled by the selfish whims of the weak. If cruelty is required to preserve stability, then cruelty is a civic duty.
Bonds
House Malice is her blood, her inheritance, and the chain around her throat. She will destroy anyone who threatens its power, but she secretly longs to learn whether she can become something greater than its instrument.
Flaws
Aurelia cannot tolerate disobedience, especially when it is disguised as moral disagreement. She confuses control with safety and is prone to escalating a situation rather than admitting uncertainty. She also secretly fears that, without House Malice’s name and authority, there is nothing remarkable left inside her.

Background
Aurelia Malice was born into an ancient elven house whose wealth was built on military contracts, political blackmail, and the quiet disappearance of inconvenient rivals. Her family’s title, Lord Inquisitor, was not inherited by age or affection, but earned through proof of absolute obedience. From childhood, Aurelia was taught that law existed to preserve hierarchy, and that mercy was merely justice weakened by sentiment. She studied military history, interrogation, and courtly rhetoric with equal devotion, learning to make a command sound like a reasonable conclusion. When war came to the border provinces, Aurelia entered the army and quickly distinguished herself as a disciplined officer. She did not seek glory on the battlefield. She sought compliance. Her soldiers were drilled until they could act without hesitation, and her prisoners were questioned until contradictions became confessions. Yet a campaign against insurgents ended with the death of her younger brother, who had secretly aided the rebels. Aurelia personally delivered the official sentence, even as she discovered evidence that the rebellion had been provoked by her own house. Now she travels under orders to locate the surviving conspirators, though her true purpose is less certain. She intends to restore House Malice to unquestioned authority, even if doing so requires exposing its crimes, destroying its rivals, or becoming the monster her family always expected her to be.
